sustainability and social conscientiousness: The impact of my art on society & nature

Art can inspire us to think about sustainability, and through its ability to reach people on the level of emotions and beliefs, art can give us new ways of seeing problems and raise awareness about social and ecological issues.

As an artist, by using discarded materials such as printed-paper, previously deemed unusable and unwanted, I seek not only to draw attention to social, economic, and environmental topics but also to reduce the environmental footprint throughout every facet of my work.

I only use non-toxic, sustainable or up-cycled materials in my art practices, and I integrate conceptual ideas of sustainability and social, political justice into my work.

However, I do not claim to have reached the finish line - I am aware that there is a lot more that can and should be done.

Given the urgency of the climate and environmental crisis we are currently in, I am particularly determined to implement ways of offsetting all shipping carbon emissions. Furthermore, I will be working on ensuring that all deliveries of my artworks are in environmentally-friendly packaging, by replacing all plastics with bioplastics and other recycled and up-cycled materials.

I will also continue to seek out & research new ways or philosophies which will allow me to become more socially conscientious and aware within and throughout my work, as well as ways to make my practices more sustainable to the best of my abilities.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any suggestions, feedback or other comments: any help would be very much appreciated! I will make sure to keep you posted on this page with any future developments on the matter.
