Time-lapse #1
2020 - 3d collage -84.1 H x 54.9 W x 4.2 cm - printed-paper and cardboard - framed
What is time? An indefinite continued progress of existence and events that occur in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, into the future? Is it an illusion? One of our naive and imperfect perceptions? how memory is connected with time? What if we could travel in time? Or if past and present and future could be reordered?
These questions have inspired this work where 2 portraits of 2 young women, one from the XVI century and the other from the present days have been mixed together. Who is who? What are we looking at? An image from the past or from the present? A memory of a woman that lived in the past or that of a woman that we have just met or will meet in the future?
