2021 - 3d collage - 99 H x 99 W x 8.5 cm - printed-paper and cardboard - framed with acrylic box
Is it possible to describe a person’s identity throught a portrait? Can an artist fix in a single image something so complex, fragile and...ungraspable?
The subjects of my works are often chosen around the topic of iIdentity, including, its continuous transformation, its intangibility and its cryptic nature. Contrary to what paintings of people normally seek to portray, by depicting portraits of people - either ordinary or celebrities - is aimed at exploring the inadequacy of a portrait to describe that person. It is only possible to fix, with in an image, a fragment of the complex nature of our identity. Printed-paper steeped with fragmented messages, is therefore, the perfect medium to represent this complex, fragile and ungraspable nature of our identity.
One piece ready to hang. framed. Clear acrylic box frame.
